The Mite League is for skaters 8 and under who have basic skating ability (finished one session of the IP Program or equivalent). Although on occasion a well-skilled 6-year old that has outgrown the IP Program will play in this division. There is no checking allowed at this age. For the 2011-2012 Season, the Mites will participate in cross-ice games with several other area Mite Programs. This is part of the new USA Hockey ADM skill development model that is mandated for all participating organizations.
Games have three 10-minute periods with line changes every 2 minutes. The Mite House Program is open to skaters regardless of skill level. Generally the House Mite Team will play teams from Dayton, Troy, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
